Day 5- Fresno KOA

On the road again to our last stop, the Fresno KOA

I have to say, this place was pretty sad. You could see the entire KOA from the driveway it was so small. The sites were micro. Ours had very little shade and it was SOOOOOO Hot!!!

This is our sad little spot. All 2 feet of it.

Even the boys are like, this is it?
"Sad" says Reese
Even our campfire was sad
At least a little friendly visitor stopped by to cheer us up
Still, we had a good time. It was a very fun vacation.

Day 4- Enjoying thePetaluma KOA

Day 3- San Francisco

Spent the day in San Francisco. I think we must have walked the entire city. And DANG was it crowded with tourists!!

Driving on the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco

Johnny and Reese can hardly contain their excitement
Walking to the Golden Gate Bridge

Taking a snack break

Riding on the Cable Car

Ice Cream at Fisherman's Wharf

Dinner at the Rainforest Cafe

Johnny is ready to call it a day...

Later that evening, back at the campsite:

Day 2- Petaluma

DAY 2

On the road again to Petaluma. We made it in about 3 hours. Unfortunately we got a little lost by sort of accidentally getting off the freeway when we weren't supposed to and losing our only road map and directions when Russ's iPhone battery died. But we figured it out and made it to our destination. The Petaluma KOA is a very nice place. Trees galore. Totally feels like you're in a forest. The campsites are a bit on the small side but we lucked out and got a corner spot. And the weather was MUCH more pleasant. All-in-all, a very cozy place.

Ok sleepyhead, think it's time for bed

Family Vacation 2009 -- Northern California

Our ultimate destination is the Petaluma KOA which is located about 40 miles north of San Francisco. Since the drive is horrendously L-O-N-G we decided to stop and camp at the San Luis Reservoir State Park in Central CA.

DAY 1

It was a very long drive to our first stop

The boys were very excited when we arrived:

(Reese is dancing, he's so excited)

When we finally got there we discovered that this place was HOT! And our campsite had not a shade tree in sight. But, we still liked the place. Our site was pretty spacious and had cemented RV parking and fire pit area. And when the sun went down and stopped roasting us it was actually pretty nice.
